PAN-INDIGENOUS DECLARATION 2026

MANY NATIONS, ONE ECOSYSTEM

The Pan-Indigenous Network began at WOMEX in Gran Canaria in 2018, where relationships formed between Indigenous artists, cultural practitioners and international music partners. Those relationships have continued to grow across nations, oceans and gatherings.

Indigenous peoples stand in solidarity while remaining distinct peoples, nations and communities with different histories, identities, laws, languages, cultural practices and relationships to lands and waters.

Indigenous music carries ancestral knowledge, languages, relationships to lands and waters, cultural memory and responsibilities to communities and future generations.

These are not separate from the music; they give it meaning and life.

You are invited to download and get involved with our declaration plan.
